President - Tisha McGary

Tisha has been volunteering in the Romeoville community for 11 years. Her experiences as a vet tech as well as her experiences in other non-profits make her an asset to the Romeoville Humane Society. Tisha’s roll-with-the-punches demeanor and open mind are essential tools to lead this organization.

Treasurer - Jan Fitschen
The newest member of the Romeoville Humane Society, Jan brings years of financial experience to the table. As a life long cat lover Jan has been an invaluable cat foster for us for years. Jan looks forward to this new endeavor, and the exciting things that rescue has to offer.


We assist in Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs, provide low cost microchipping and DNA kits, education, and networking for lost pets.

Secretary - Megan Ziller

Megan is one of the founding board members, and brings a degree in Biology and experiences as a vet tech to the Humane Society. Her passion for animals and understanding of their biological workings is one of the most valuable qualities that Megan brings to the Romeoville Humane Society, and the hours and care she devotes to the organization are immeasurable.

Vice President - Charlotte Weberling-Soakup

Charlotte grew up with animals of all kinds. She has previously volunteered with other animal welfare organizations such as PACT Humane Society and the Plainfield Animal Hospital/Shelter cleaning, feeding, and socializing cats and dogs. Charlotte was recently a vet tech for Banfield and loves being able to work with others to find more ways to help animals in need.

2009 - Romeoville Humane Society is founded as the first humane society based out of Romeoville for Romeoville.

2011 - Romeoville Humane Society takes in 18 dogs from a backyard breeding/hording raid in Bolingbrook, providing veterinary care and new homes for all.

2012 - Facebook Hits 1000 Likes! Thank you to all the fans who helped us reach 1000 likes on Facebook! We couldn't save all the furry little lives we save without you. You, our fans and supporters, SAVE LIVES. Your money, your time, your interest is an integral part of every life that the Romeoville Humane Society saves. Thank you!

2016 - 1000 Cats and Dogs adopted from Romeoville Humane Society!

Adoption Director - Karri Tegner

Karri is a long time resident of Romeoville who has been volunteering with our organization since 2010. With 25 years of experience in project coordination for a large global company, she brings professionalism and management skills to the table. Karri has evolved into the role of our ‘Cat Care & Adoption Coordinator’ managing our adoption centers, and training new volunteers. You will find her often at either Petsmart or Petco, working with potential adopters to help them find their purr-fect pet.
